AMYLOID PRECURSOR PROTEIN This item recognises an epitope at the C-terminus of human amyloid precursor protein (APP). APP is a 110-130kD transmembrane protein. Processing of APP by Beta-secretase gives rise to amyloidogenic beta-amyloid proteins, deposition of which are characteristic of Alzheimer disease. APP exists in a number of isoforms. APP(695) is predominant in neuronal tissue, whilst APP(751) dominates elsewhere. APP also inhibits Notch signaling through it's interaction with NUMB.

For antibodies that are in liquid form or reconstituted lyophilized antibodies small amounts could become entrapped on the seal or the walls of the tube.
