BackgroundOX40 ligand (OX40L), also called CD252, is a single-pass type II membrane protein of the TNF/TNF receptor superfamily. OX40L is expressed by DCs, macrophages and B cells and signals via its cognate receptor OX40 which is mainly expressed on APCs. OX40L/OX40 interactions are important in T-cell activation and survival and for the generation of memory T cells from activated effector T cells. OX40L–OX40 co-stimulation leads to activation of TNF receptor associated factor (TRAF) 2, 3 and 5. This pathway has been shown to prolong the survival of effector CD4+Th cells as well as contributes to generation of memory T cells.
-
DescriptionFAS ligand and other ligands are binding to the receptor for signaling pathways for example in apoptosis or JNK signaling. Receptor agonists are often tested for drug development.

TestMouse or mice from the Mus musculus species are used for production of mouse monoclonal antibodies or mabs and as research model for humans in your lab. Mouse are mature after 40 days for females and 55 days for males. The female mice are pregnant only 20 days and can give birth to 10 litters of 6-8 mice a year. Transgenic, knock-out, congenic and inbread strains are known for C57BL/6, A/J, BALB/c, SCID while the CD-1 is outbred as strain.
