  Dihydrotanshinone, isolated from Salvia miltiorrhiza (S. miltiorrhiza) is an effective anti-cardiovascular disease agent. It also induces apoptosis and inhibits proliferation of glioma cells. DHT induces growth inhibition and apoptosis of gastric cancer cells, involving activation of caspase proteins and the JNK/p38 signaling pathway.
