BackgroundAnnexin V Apoptosis Detection Kit is based on the observation that soon after initiating apoptosis, cells translocate the membrane phosphatidyl-serine (PS) from the inner face of the plasma membrane to the cell surface. Once on the cell surface, PS can be easily detected by staining with a fluorescent conjugate of Annexin V, a protein that has a high affinity for PS. The one-step staining procedure takes only 10 minutes. Detection can be analyzed by flow cytometry or by fluorescence microscopy.
-
Additional descriptionThis Annexin V calcium dependent phospholipid binding protein will be downstream of BCL2 pathway and at caspase apoptotic level. Biovision has more cell death kits and antibodies. This 1 is suited for programmed cell-death studies.
-
PropertiesCy3 antibodies are excited by the 488-nanometer wave of an argon laser and the 633-nanometer line of a helium-neon diode laser. 1 of the Annexin V- Apoptosis Kit can be used in flow cytometry but typically shows lower fluorescence intensity comparable to that of PE or APC. This Biovision antibody is well suited for fluorescent microscopy.
