ANP (1-11), rat

Description

Atrial Natriuretic Peptide is a peptide released by atrial myocytes in response to atrial distension, angiotensin II stimulation, endothelin, and sympathetic stimulation. It is a powerful vasodilator involved in the homeostatic control of body water, sodium, potassium and fat. ANP acts to reduce the water, sodium and adipose loads on the circulatory system, thereby reducing blood pressure.
