Scientific contextProteasome-dependent degradation serves an essential role in the removal of a wide variety of key nuclear and cytosolic proteins. Substrates are targeted for proteolysis by the ubiquitin pathway before being degraded by the 26 S proteasome. The subunit of the proteasome, S5a, was identified to bind to polyubiquitin in vitro and thus proposed to act as a substrate recognition component. Alternative names: 26S proteasome non-ATPase regulatory subunit 4, Rpn10, multiubiquitin chain-binding protein, antisecretory factor 1, ASF, AF

PropertiesHuman proteins, cDNA and human recombinants are used in human reactive ELISA kits and to produce anti-human mono and polyclonal antibodies. Modern humans (Homo sapiens, primarily ssp. Homo sapiens sapiens). Depending on the epitopes used human ELISA kits can be cross reactive to many other species. Mainly analyzed are human serum, plasma, urine, saliva, human cell culture supernatants and biological samples.
