Background InformationOsteopontin (OPN), also known as Secreted phosphoprotein 1 (SPP1), is a human gene product which is conserved in other species. This protein is glycoprotein that was first identified in osteoblasts and plays an important role in bone remodeling, immune functions in fibroblasts, macrophages, and lymphocytes during inflammation and wound healing. Recombinant human Osteopontin protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography.

PropertiesHuman proteins, cDNA and human recombinants are used in human reactive ELISA kits and to produce anti-human mono and polyclonal antibodies. Modern humans (Homo sapiens, primarily ssp. Homo sapiens sapiens). Depending on the epitopes used human ELISA kits can be cross reactive to many other species. Mainly analyzed are human serum, plasma, urine, saliva, human cell culture supernatants and biological samples.
