DescriptionDuring apoptosis, toxic or useless cells are broken down for removal. DFF, or DNA fragmentation factor, is a heterodimeric protein which mediates DNA fragmentation and chromatin condensation during apoptosis. DFFB is the active DFF subunit but remains inactive while bound to DFFA, also call ICAD (Inhibitor of caspase-activated DNase). Caspase-3 cleaves ICAD, which then disassociates from DFFB. The disassociation removes the inhibitory effects of ICAD, activating DFFB and beginning the DNA fragmentation process.
-
ImmunogenA recombinant protein fragment from human ICAD was used as the immunogen for this antibody.
-
StorageAliquot the antibody and store frozen at -20 deg. Celcius or lower. Cycles of freezing and thawing can denaturate the peptide chains of the antibodies and reduce their sensitivity and/or change their affinity. Prepare aliqotes in such a manner so that freeze-thaw cycles are minimized.
-
PropertiesIf you buy Antibodies supplied by NJS poly they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
