Species reactivity
N/A; Due to limited knowledge and inability for testing each and every species, the reactivity of the antibody may extend to other species which are not listed hereby.
-
Specificity and cross reactivity
Recognizes an immunodominant p24 epitope of feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) p24 gag. The specific binding epitope appears to be enclosed in a tight peptide coil during gag production and maturation. The addition of 0.3% Triton-X detergent is recommended to reveal this epitope for antibody binding. Does not recognize Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV), Feline Herpes Virus (FHV) type 1, Feline Coronavirus or Feline Calicivirus.; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited. This particular antibody might cross react with speacies outside of the listed ones.

Storage and shipping
Store the antibody at +4 degrees Celsius for short term storage.. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and For optimal long term storage, the antibody should be kept at -20 degrees Celsius. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months the antibody should be stored at -20 degrees Celsius.. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Tested applications
ELISA (EL/EIA)

Properties
If you buy Antibodies supplied by MBS Monoclonals they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C. Biotin conjugates can be detected by horseradish peroxidase, alkaline phosphatase substrates or anti biotin conjugated antibodies. Avidin and Streptavidin bind to the small biotin and are couple to HRP or AP for ELISA. To break the streptavidin Biotin bond we suggest to use a 6 molar guanidine HCl solution with acidity of pH 1.6.

Species
Virus, Sometimes til 5% of an area felines have specific IgGs for the feline retroviral feLV infecting Felidae. Also distemper and leukemia virusses apear in cats and have their specific IgG antibodies that are very stable. All cats used for producing immunoglobulins are screened and tested virus negative. Cat seras have usually higher IgG tirters than dog serum. Feline range = 10 to 20 mg/ml IgGs. Viruses
