Scientific contextOkadaic acid is a potent and selective inhibitor of protein phosphatase 1 (PP1) and protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A). Okadaic acid is a naturally occurring polyether toxin that was originally derived from marine dinoflagellates, Prorocentrium spp.. It is a reversible inhibitor.
