  • Background Information
IL-10 (Interleukin-10), originally known as Cytokine Synthesis Inhibitory Factor (CSIF), is an 18.6 kDa protein containing 161 amino acid residues. It shares over 80% sequence homology with the Epstein-Barr Virus protein BCRFI. The reported biological activities of IL-10 include inhibition of macrophage-mediated cytokine synthesis, suppression of the delayed-type hypersensitivity response, and stimulation of the Th2 cell response which results in elevated antibody production.
  • Handling
Centrifuge the vial prior to opening.
  • Usage
For Research Use Only! Not to be used in humans
  • Properties
Human proteins, cDNA and human recombinants are used in human reactive ELISA kits and to produce anti-human mono and polyclonal antibodies. Modern humans (Homo sapiens, primarily ssp. Homo sapiens sapiens). Depending on the epitopes used human ELISA kits can be cross reactive to many other species. Mainly analyzed are human serum, plasma, urine, saliva, human cell culture supernatants and biological samples.
