Background InformationThrombospondin-1 is believed to play a role in cell migration and proliferation, during embryogenesis and wound repair. Also, it has been used as a potential regulator of tumor growth and metastasis. TSP expression is highly regulated by different hormones and cytokines and is developmentally controlled. TSP stimulates the growth of Vascular smooth muscle cells and human foreskin fibroblasts, a combination of IFN-γ and TNF-α inhibits TSP production in these cells. Recombinant Human Thrombospondin is glycosylated with N-linked sugars and produced using baculovirus vectors in insect cells. Human Thrombospondin is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

-
PropertiesHuman proteins, cDNA and human recombinants are used in human reactive ELISA kits and to produce anti-human mono and polyclonal antibodies. Modern humans (Homo sapiens, primarily ssp. Homo sapiens sapiens). Depending on the epitopes used human ELISA kits can be cross reactive to many other species. Mainly analyzed are human serum, plasma, urine, saliva, human cell culture supernatants and biological samples.
