Scientific contextAnisomycin is an antibiotic which inhibits protein synthesis (1). It interferes with protein and DNA synthesis by inhibiting peptidyl transferace on the 80S ribosome system. It can activate stress-activated protein kinases, MAPkinase and other signal transduction pathways.
