Reconstitution InstructionsCentrifuge vial before opening. When reconstituting the product, gently pipet and wash down the sides of the vial to ensure full recovery of the protein into solution. It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized product with sterile water, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.

Background InformationActivin A is a member of the TGFbeta family of proteins produced by many cell types throughout development. Activins interact with Type I and Type II serine/threonine kinases to signal to SMAD proteins to regulate a variety of functions, including cell proliferation, differentiation, wound healing, apoptosis, metabolism, etc. Activin A is a homodimer of two beta A chains and is not biologically active until the N terminal propeptide is cleaved from each. Mouse Activin A has 100% amino acid sequence identity to human, rat, porcine, bovine and feline proteins. Recombinant mouse Activin A is a nonglycosylated homodimer, containing two 117 amino acid chains, with a total molecular weight of 26.2 kDa

UsageFor Research Use Only! Not to be used in humans
-
TestMouse or mice from the Mus musculus species are used for production of mouse monoclonal antibodies or mabs and as research model for humans in your lab. Mouse are mature after 40 days for females and 55 days for males. The female mice are pregnant only 20 days and can give birth to 10 litters of 6-8 mice a year. Transgenic, knock-out, congenic and inbread strains are known for C57BL/6, A/J, BALB/c, SCID while the CD-1 is outbred as strain.
