Specificity and cross reactivity
Human CD56 CD56, an isoform of the neural cell adhesion molecule (NCAM), is a 220 kDa heavily glycosylated type I transmembrane protein. On human hematopoietic cells, its expression is restricted to NK cells and a subpopulation of T lymphocytes (known as large granular lymphocytes) which demonstrate natural killer activity. While it is clear that NCAM plays a role in homotypic adhesion of neuronal cells, the significance of CD56 expression on NK cells is not clear and remains controversial.1-4; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited. This particular antibody might cross react with speacies outside of the listed ones.

The purified antibody (UNLB) is supplied as 0.1 mg purified immunoglobulin in 1.0 mL of 100 mM borate buffered saline, pH 8.2. No preservatives or amine-containing buffer salts added. Store at 2- 8 degree C. The fluorescein (FITC) conjugate is supplied as 100 tests in 1.0 mL of PBS/NaN3. Store the antibody ats should be kept in the range of 1-7 degrees Celsius.. The biotin (BIOT) conjugate is supplied as 100 tests in 1.0 mL of PBS/NaN3 and a stabilizing agent. Store the antibody ats should be kept in the range of 1-7 degrees Celsius..
