• Specificity and cross reactivity
  Reacts with the mouse Connexin 47 protein. On Western blots of mouse thalamus homogenates and Connexin 47-transfected HeLa cells, it identified a band at ~47kD. Reactivity was confirmed in Western blots with mouse thalamus lysates. Mouse Connexin 47-transfected HeLa cells were used in both Immunoprecipitation and Western blot assays. This antibody was also used in immunofluorescence assays using paraformaldehyde-fixed mouse brain. The expected staining pattern is punctate labeling of the oligodendrocytes in the brain.; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited. This particular antibody might cross react with speacies outside of the listed ones.

  Store the antibody at +4 degrees Celsius for short term storage.. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze the antibody should be stored at -20 degrees Celsius.. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months the antibody should be stored at -20 degrees Celsius.. Prior to use, briefly centrifuge the original vial after thawing and before lid. If further dilution(s) are needed, they can be done with the appropriate assay buffer.
