• Description
  Protein kinase C(PKC) is the major phorbol ester receptor. Activation of PKC by calcium ions and the second messenger diacylglycerol is though to play a central role in the induction of cellular responses to a variety of ligand-receptor systems and in the regulation of cellular responsiveness to external stimuli. Three of these, termed alpha, beta and gamma, are highly homologous. PRKCA1 is mapped to 17q22-q23.2. PKC-alpha regulates cardiac contractility and propensity toward heart failure.

  An amino acid sequence from the C-terminal of human PKC alpha (100% homologous in human, mouse and rat).
• Storage
  After reconstitution, the PKC alpha antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20 deg. Celcius or lower. Cycles of freezing and thawing can denaturate the peptide chains of the antibodies and reduce their sensitivity and/or change their affinity. Prepare aliqotes in such a manner so that freeze-thaw cycles are minimized. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
