Description
Recombinant Protein expressed in E. coli; ZFP42, also commonly called REX1, is a member of the krueppel C2H2-type zinc finger protein family of transcription factors. The first 98 amino acids of the protein are unique; the downstream sequence contains four C2H2-type zinc finger regions. ZFP42 is highly expressed in embryonic and induced pluripotent stem cells and is therefore used as a stem cell marker, but it can also be detected in several types of epidermal and epithelial cells. ZFP42 is thought to play a role in stem cell self-renewal and pluripotency.

Properties
Human proteins, cDNA and human recombinants are used in human reactive ELISA kits and to produce anti-human mono and polyclonal antibodies. Modern humans (Homo sapiens, primarily ssp. Homo sapiens sapiens). Depending on the epitopes used human ELISA kits can be cross reactive to many other species. Mainly analyzed are human serum, plasma, urine, saliva, human cell culture supernatants and biological samples.
