Potassium perchlorate, Hi-AR is a colourless or white crystaline powder used in fireworks, ammunition percussion caps, explosive primers, and is used variously in propellants, flash compositions, stars, and sparklers. It is used as an antithyroid and involved in the treatment of hyperthyroidism.
