Background InformationCCL21 is member of the chemokine superfamily and the subfamily of CC chemokines that has an aspartate cysteine-cysteine-leucine motif near its amino-terminus. This protein is involved in inhibits hemopoiesis and stimulates chemotaxis. CCL21 is chemotactic in vitro for thymocytes and activated T-cells, but not for B-cells, macrophages, or neutrophils. It may also play a role in mediating homing of lymphocytes to secondary lymphoid organs. Recombinant CCL21 protein was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

PropertiesHuman proteins, cDNA and human recombinants are used in human reactive ELISA kits and to produce anti-human mono and polyclonal antibodies. Modern humans (Homo sapiens, primarily ssp. Homo sapiens sapiens). Depending on the epitopes used human ELISA kits can be cross reactive to many other species. Mainly analyzed are human serum, plasma, urine, saliva, human cell culture supernatants and biological samples.
