It uses Amplite UltraBlue as a colorimetric probe to indirectly quantify the phosphocholine produced from the hydrolysis of sphingomyelin (SM) by sphingomyelinase (SMase). It can be used for measuring the SMase activity in blood, cell extracts or other solutions.
