  AID This item specifically recognizes human AID (Activation-induced cytidine deaminase), a 24kDa RNA-editing enzyme essential for the initiation of immunoglobulin class switch recombination (CSR), somatic hypermutation (SHM) and gene conversion (GC). Studies suggest that AID is selectively expressed by germinal centre (GC) B cells and B cell-derived lymphomas, and that a deficiency in AID is responsible for the autosomal recessive form of the immunodeficient condition Hyper-IgM syndrome. ; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited. This particular antibody might cross react with speacies outside of the listed ones.
